Classic cars shine on despite rain

By Thomas Shirtliffe A cross-country tour of classic cars made its way through Beausejour on Wednesday and wasn't hindered at all by the mixed weather that was coming down. The cars were rolling in from the east. Th e tour, called Coasters 2010, started in St. John's, Newfoundland and is at the mid-point as it makes its way to Victoria, British Columbia. But why are the drivers taking their cars from one side of Canada to the other? Warren Rogalsky, a retired truck driver, is one of the drivers. He will be away from his Calgary, Alberta home for three months when this is all said and done. Th e reason that they are going across Canada is simple. "To see the country," he says. They definitely will and they will be doing it quite quickly. Rogalsky says that they plan to be in Victoria on Aug. 20. Only 14 days away. Regardless, Rogalsky and the rest of the drivers have been having a lot of fun and on top of that have been seeing the country in an entirely new way. "It's been an eye opener to see the country this way," Rogalsky says. "We're not driving on the Trans Canada Highway either." They have also been trying to stay away from the big cities.
