October election getting closer
By Thomas Shirtliffe In these parts, not too many people want to be the head honcho in town. If you haven't noticed, election time is right around the corner and it appears that it will be slim pickings when it comes to the vote - so far. Th at's because in both the Town of Beausejour and the RM of Brokenhead there is only one person that's registered and ready to go for this fall's election: Brad Saluk, who is running for mayor of Beausejour. Lorraine Baker, the senior elections offi cial for the RM is starting to get a little antsy with time running out for those who are interested in running in the election. "It's been very quiet," Baker says. "Nobody has put their name in." Time is quickly turning against those who are interested in running.
